Juan R. Leõn Vasquez
Multi-instrumentalist (Chapman Stick,bass,Native American Flute) and NAF maker (wood/bamboo) from Central Florida.
Born in Mexico to parents of Native Mezo American Indian blood (Yaqui/Tarahumara) and residing in Florida,U.S. His wife gifted Juan his 1st flute in 2002 as a Christmas present whereupon he fell in love with the beautiful and haunting melody that the flute enabled him to create and soon began a small collection of flutes and eventually decided to build his own.
Juan is a member of 2 transcontinental music projects.The 1st of which is Music Word Art in where:
"Our collective efforts result in the release multi-media "art packs" fusing sound,visuals,and the written word."
The 2nd project is Ollin,an ambient/world/acid jazz duo releasing music online exclusively.
Juan is also an active member with nu-jazz trumpeteer Lindy Romez's group,Sol Y Mar in which he regularly perfoms around the Central Florida area.
Juan also performs with "Tlahui",a duo with guitarist Gary Tompkins.
