“Fujara” is a native flute from Slovakia, with a unique voice. Many say that they will never forget hearing the Fujara for the first time. It is a very large, up to 6 feet long fipple overtone flute with 3 side holes and a parallel smaller tube, which supplies air to the top of the flute. Fujara has amazingly rich spectrum of healing overtones and is well suited for meditation and improvisation. Bob Rychlik has been performing with fujara and overtone flute at Folk Festivals and other events in Maryland and other places for many years, also playing live with Washington ballet troupe “CityDance” on many stages, from Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., to St. Petersburg, Russia. His first fujara was a gift from a friend during visit to Slovakia in the fall of 1999, and he has been playing it since and sharing its haunting voice with other people. Besides fujara, he performs with overtone flute "koncovka", and 6-hole Slovak flutes, he also home-recorded sampler CD "Ideas with fujara".

Branches Breath
Branches Breath is a three-piece Native American flute musical ensemble that grew from the Indiana Flute Circle— A society of members that collect, play, construct and promote the Native American flute. Our music is a mixture of percussion, spontaneous song, composed melodies with both World and Native Flutes. We enjoy playing Native American Flutes because they are unique in their sound, appearance, and spirit. The focus of Branches Breath is to bring this unique and beautiful instrument to anyone who will hear it because we have seen the positive affect it has had on so many. The music brings a sense of peace and calmness, some may find themselves transported to a woods and hear animals playing or to a mountain range and see eagles flying. Because of this we do our best to play at Pow Wows, multicultural events, peace festivals, health fairs and even dinner receptions. We feel that a gift truly appreciated is a gift shared and if even one person comes away with a better appreciation of the flute from having heard our music then we did our job.

Kiriel Solene
Kiriel Solene
Kiriel Solene began this lifetime as the daughter of a jazz singer and the younger sister of concert flautist. She was raised from the womb with music as an integral part of her life, even upon entering the military at the age of 25 and being admitted into the National Guard Army Band as a brass specialist. A motorcycle accident was about to change her life into a different direction... After this near-death experience Kiriel’s life was put on hold, musically, and just about every thing else; to ponder the whys about life, and heal. She became a seeker of "truth".. Learning about many different paths of the wheel .and follows the life of "harmony", and "joy"
‘Kiriel Solene’. .... was born out of this journey. She picked up her first Native American flute in 2000 and never set it down. She credits her full transformation into her divinity through the breath of life that came to her, in the vibration of love, by playing her flute.... and seems to want to play that song where ever it is that she is.
Kiriel picked up her first didgeridoo two years later and she is all self-taught ... but has been impressed by some of the best players around the globe and has become accomplished on the didgeridoo as well
Kiriel travels extensively to attend flute gatherings, indigenous gatherings, spiritual gatherings, and any gathering in which she could use her talents through her unique form of healing, and teaching vibrations to others.
Kiriel is currently residing in Gilbert, AZ. She can be contacted at worldpeaceserver@yahoo.com Her first CD of ‘Big Earth Sky’ has been distributed widely and she is currently working on her second CD, tentatively entitled ‘In Your Dreams’.

We meet on a regular base to have fun, to change ideas and to make music. Most of the time someone starts to play and the others join in. We never know where we are going, we do know that we like to go "nowhere". That's what they call improvisation. What are we going to do in the future? Only the flute will tell. Another important issue about us is sharing : Everybody wants to share freely his talents with the others and that's what makes us "feel good" whenever we come together. We guess that's the meaning of life : sharing and feel good. And because we love what we are doing we want to share it with the world!

I'm a maker and player of the Plains Style Three Fire Flute and Plains Style Courting Flute. I was impressed that it it only took a few minutes to learn to play the flute but it will take my lifetime to master it. Living in central Ohio I find myself in the midst of many types of gatherings and reenactments. I am a gatherer of traditional stories and music. Periodically I am able to host campfires or talks where I relate these stories to others as a passing on of knowledge. Making my flutes is a winter project for me and the building I make them in is unheated. Only a love of the flute could draw me out so.
I cannot claim any blood bond with any tribe due to blind adoptions in my families history but the friendship that has been shown to me by the man that shared his knowledge of life and of flute making, has made my soul content.

Robin
I am happy and grateful that Geoffrey and Jeff provide this great flute portal and forum.
I like all variations of the NAF, the drones, the triples, the sub bass flutes and the clay flute creations of Xavier Yxayotl. I also play the recorder, bansuri, xiao, quena, anasazi and other world flutes.
Cheers,
Robin

Two Hearts
Richard Soaring Owl and Keith Little Grizz known as Two Hearts are recipients of the 2005 and 2006 “Silver Arrow Awards”. The awards are presented by Spirit Wind Records and Raven Hawk Productions to upcoming artists for their outstanding contributions to Native American music.
Their musical trade mark evolved around performing duets with the Native American Flute. Although each has their own distinctive style, when playing duets, they are taking their two independent hearts and combining them together to play as one. Serenity is their latest CD. They've come together to blend a variety of instruments to create a tapestry, a story, of beautiful music. The CD lives up to its title, it weaves beautiful haunting melodies that take the listeners into a peaceful environment of Serenity.
