Stephen Cumberworth specializes in an unorthodox approach to the Native American flute and other world flutes, blending traditional sounds with jazz, folk, and worldly sensibilities. Whether played solo or teamed with other instruments, Stephen's flutes create a mosaic of original music that won't soon be forgotten as he explores just what these relatively simple instruments are truly capable of. Stephen has been playing the Native American flute since early 2005, and transverse "folk" flutes (i.e., fifes, bansuri, etc.) since the early 2010s, building on many prior years of classical and jazz experience. He is entirely self-taught where the flute is concerned, and also has talents with percussion, harmonica, trumpet, and vocals.

Stephen has performed on stage with his friends Randy Granger and Cornell Kinderknecht, and with a number of other talented musicians. Stephen has also recorded several flute parts in an on-going collaboration with Scottish composer and friend, Iain "Fox Amoore" Armour, for stand-alone pieces as well as an in-progress graphic novel/animation project, and for the original score of an independent short film.

Stephen has produced three original albums, currently available from CDBaby.com and your favorite online music stores, including iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, and more!
