Muskoka Woodland Echoes Flute Circle - CANADA
Description
Located in Bracebridge, Muskoka (in Ontario, Canada), about a 2 1/4 hour drive north of Toronto. Recently formed in March 2008, attendance thus far has been about 13-15 very enthusiastic people, who range from very experienced, somewhat experienced, newbies and curiousity seekers! Teachings are based on the spiritual and healing qualities of the North American Native Flute.
More Information
Although we are a Flute Circle which honours the North American Native Flute, we welcome all world and ethnic flutes. This would include Shakuhachi, Bansuri, Chinese, Pan, etc... As well, hand drums, other percussion instruments, shakers, rattles, didgeridoos, acoustic guitars, kalimbas, etc... are welcome, but out of respect, are only played if the fluter playing at the time requests accompaniment and at a volume such that the flute player is heard.
As the music tends to be very meditative, we ask that no young children attend in order to avoid interruption and disruption.
Beginners have the opportunity to learn from more experienced players. If you are a non-player and are simply interested or curious about the Native Flute, and would like to attend to learn more, you are most welcome to attend. There is never any pressure to perform and the circle is intended to be comfortable and enjoyable for all, whether you are playing or just listening.
As well, there are usually flutes for sale at the gatherings.
Come on out and enjoy some Merry Music Making!
