Arizona Flute Circle

Description

Located in the Scottsdale / Phoenix area

We normally meet on the Second Saturday of each month from 4pm to 7pm at different members homes, where each of us bring a Pot Luck dish to enjoy with friends after conducting group announcements and then having Open Mic for all who wish to get up to play. We number about 40 in our group (give or take) and are always glad to see new faces!

Pls use the Flute Leader Contact Information at the bottom of this page for exact times and places!

For Those Interested in Learning and Playing of the NAF:

Come Join Us For NAF Practice!

Still interested in continuing your learning of the NAF, but don’t know where to go now that John Vames has retired from teaching his semester course at SCC ? (Scottsdale Community College)

We have the answer for you and maybe you’ve even heard about us already?

We meet at the Paradise Mausoleum on the corner of Shea Blvd @ 92nd Street in Scottsdale !

The Mausoleum locks up at 4:30pm and we take it over.

We use the right side entrance accessed through the gated courtyard, which will be open during our learning sessions.

When: Every Tuesday from 4:30pm to 6:30pm

Except on 2nd Tuesday of each month (see below)

Requirements: Preferably an F# flute and a Music Stand

And we’ll take it from there !

We’re basically an intermediate group, who would be most understanding of those new to the NAF world and just starting out and can help just about anyone put their best foot forward to jump right in with the rest of us, as we take things pretty slow.

And just as John Vames had his “mic night” once a month, we’ve continued his tradition by having our own “Open Mic Night”!

It’s just that ours is pretty much the real deal, being that it’s held at our local coffee shop, And please note however, that this is only once a month and only on the Second (2nd) Tuesday of each month. Again those hours for "Mic Night" are from 4:30pm to 6:30pm as well.
